As part of my September sort - you know, getting back from holiday and getting the house ready for Autumn, filling up the log shed, clearing the apples off the lawn (whilst dodging those darn drunken wasps) and cozying up the house in readiness for the clocks going back next month - I am seriously thinking of painting up the living room with a feature dark wall.
A sumptuous deep blue, dark grey or even black. I'm not sure which way to go, so I've been scouring the net again to see which colour it is that is luring me in. The more I look the more I'm pretty set on the idea.
Here are some of the rooms that have made my heart skip a beat.
The combination of all that white light space with the dark wall I think works so well. It's striking and has a big impact but doesn't feel overpowering at all. Paired with natural materials, botanicals and a touch of vintage, I can imagine makes this a really easy space to be in.
This moody corner is full of character. Layers and textures are what makes this room look so full of luxury and has a cool easy style.
A dark feature wall definitely packs a punch in interior design and just oozes luxury. This bathroom from Casa Cook on the Island of Rhodes is just dreamy don't you think? I think I'd be topping up the hot water a few times in here.
Oh boy! This kitchen ....... not sure I'd want to cook a ragu in it for fear of staining those pristine white units. Maybe just stick to making a neat little Nespresso. Those curious squares on the walls, you guessed it, they are push opening cupboards, very slick.
OK I'm sold, I'm going for it, a dark feature wall it is. Perfect for the Autumn.
