Plants and flowers are a huge trend in home décor, and 2016 is definitely the year to be bringing the outdoors in.

Indulging in botanical wallpaper, fabrics and furniture is costly, not to mention semi permanent (bit of a pain when you change your mind next year) so why not add some home accessories to create a beautiful botanical scheme instead, quick, easy and the great thing is, you don't have to dig too deep into those pockets.

Here are 5 of our favourite botanical ideas to help get you started …

1) BASKETS

Handmade and natural, baskets are SO useful. What a brilliant way to show off your indoor plant collection!  Perfect too for hiding those hideous brown plastic containers that they come in. You can NEVER have too many baskets.

2) STORAGE BAGS

A Simple stylish storage bag, what’s not to love? It's hard to believe that storage bag wasn't made to show off your prized plants.

3) CUTE PLANT POTS

Make a statement by grouping together adorable little plant pots. Add a tea-light a small keepsake, some books maybe. I love this way of decorating, creating clusters of favourite objects is a great way to tell a story.

4) ON THE WALL

There’s no doubt about it, there is a lot of love for the botanical print going on at the moment. We've seen some amazing examples of simple monochrome posters and prints, like this one from by Garmi. I especially love the dramatic back drop of this dark wall and the brass accents.

5) MACRAME HANGING PLANT POTS

Nothing screams ‘botanical style’ to me more than a hanging planter and the 70's revival of macrame is so exciting. I remember my mum conjuring these up when I was a kid. I LOVE the fact that they have come back into our homes.
